A Wish For Both Of You
24 x 36 inches unframed
Mixed media painting on canvas
Materials: paper, pattern paper, ephemera, marker, adhesive, ink, acrylic and oil paint on canvas
Artist’s Notes:
My art is process driven. It evolves through a lengthy repetition of painting, sanding, and drawing. I think this helps it achieve thematic depth--the phyiscal layers of materials portray layers of meaning. In this piece, a card from my parent's 1969 wedding is a subtle visual. My hope is that by weaving a sense of history into the surface of the painting, the viewer can ruminate on themes of legacy and transformation.
